THINGS NOT TO PACK WHEN SHIFTING

Here are four things I shouldn’t pack when shifting. Although some of this advice might seem obvious, a large number of people have to learn what not to pack. These tips will prevent me from committing the same mistakes.

Treasures:

I’ll Keep my treasure(money, securities, valuable papers, and jewelry) with me. If they are already tucked securely in a bank deposit box, I shouldn’t forget to get a new safe bank deposit box close to my new location and transfer the things there before I shift.

Flammables:

The local hazardous waste organization in my locality should guide me on how to dispose of things such as aerosol cans, paints, and gasoline. The local fire department can point me in the correct direction.

If all of this sounds exciting to you, you’re probably ready to pursue a career as a real estate agent! Our team at Illinois Brokers Academy is here to help you with our real estate courses for any real estate career you want.

Perishable Items:

The option of donating frozen foods and produce to my local food bank always seem adorable. Move for Hunger is an awesome organization for linking me to a food bank near me.

Or, have a very eclectic leftover dinner: ice cream and frozen waffles, anyone?

Plants and Flowers:

Few states don’t allow plants to cross state lines so a shifting company won’t be able to shift them for me. Shifting locally? The way in advance of shifting day: Ask the shifting company if they can shift plants. Can they shift them in one day or would I be better off shifting my green buddies myself? I don’t want my green buddies in the dark without water too long!

The Ultimate Lifesaver Packing Tips

Things I want to have easy access should be my side on shifting day. I should pack a suitcase for each of my family members so everyone has their PJs, a change of clothes, phone/computer chargers, toothbrush, toothpaste, meds, and favorite teddy bear.

Also, I will make sure each family pet is microchipped, tagged, and has a backpack full of food, meds, treats, and toys to keep them settled where ever they will be babysat during the shifting.

If I’m moving a long distance, each family member has enough to get them through until the shifting van rolls up to the new location. Really, I don’t want anyone to begin that new school or job in their polka-dotted PJs!
