Make Fixtures

Now is the time to fix all of those nagging things that I just lived with. Inside the house, I’ll look for things like stained ceilings, missing tile, or broken windows and doors. Outside, I’ll look for broken or missing shingles, patio pavers, and tuckpointing.

I’ll make a list of everything I observe and then I’ll plan which things I prefer to fix first. A real estate broker can be very helpful in determining what needs to be done and what doesn’t.

Finish My Projects

Every landlord has at least a couple of ongoing projects that never seem to get done. Now is the exact time to install the ceiling fan I bought last summer and stain that beadboard I put up in the pantry. I should complete all my ongoing tasks so that I can be free on time and welcome new projects.

If all of this sounds exciting to you, you’re probably ready to pursue a career as a real estate agent! Our team at Illinois Brokers Academy is here to help you with our real estate courses for any real estate career you want.

Create Curb Appeal

It’s essential that my home makes a cool first impression. When potential buyers drive up to my home, I want them to think, “Wow! I want to live here!” To make sure buyers want to see the inside of my home, I have to make sure the outside is well-kept, tidy, and inviting. It’s vital to touch up or completely repaint the trim, keep the grass shaved up, edge along sidewalks and paths, maintain flowers and shrubs, and keep the yard tidy. I never know when curious buyers will drive by.

Research Agents

It’s never a bad idea to get a second opinion when trying to find a real estate broker. Bunches off people tend to work with the same broker they did on an earlier deal or use someone suggested by a friend or relative. I’ll make sure to talk to others who have worked with a broker, I might be surprised what I have explored.

I’ll ensure I avoid doing things like adding a sunroom when selling a house, it could cost me much.
