LinkedIn is the only professional digital media platform that supports social selling. I use LinkedIn for networking for potential partners, prospects, recruitment, and professional recommendations.

Almost every week, I see some realtors who use LinkedIn unprofessionally evidently. Thus, I thought to write this blog post to help clarify what realtors regret doing later on. Since, there are certain “rules” to use LinkedIn, which some realtors don’t seem to understand.

Here’s Realtors Regret Doing on LinkedIn:

Realtors connect with colleagues and other Realtors.

They are their COMPETITORS undoubtedly. Why would they want to collabarote with them? For example, if I’m at a networking event with 150 people, would I prefer to go and hang out with the seven Realtors in the room? NO! This is the exactly the same .A understanding Realtor should not practice this anymore.

Realtors post results in their headlines on LinkedIn.

The headline is that section which appears after the name. For this reason,a Realtor should not post any of the below:

Realtors use old, outdated headshot that doesn’t seems like them.

Nevertheless,a Realtor should not upload his profile image on the defaulted shadow avatar! Yet if a realtor have a unprofessional headshot,he should indeed ask someone take a nice photo of him.He must surely use that until he get a pro shot done.

Realtors forget the summary section of their profile.

This is where they have the chance to star shine over their competitors indeed! The summary section is written like a cover letter, where they explain WHO they are.HOW they can assist their cuctomers and how they are UNALIKE.This section is of course underutilized and it’s a canvas available to make themselves look different.

Realtors Just Focus on Selling

Social selling on LinkedIn is not like in-person farming. If a Realtor want to sell in a social environment, he will better focus on adding value to his network.Furthermore, the Realtor should consistently post valuable tips and information with an occasional CTA (Call to Action) words.

Realtors usually ignore endorsements and recommendations.

When a Realtor endorse or recommend others, he is more likely to return the favor. If a Realtor have a healthy amount of these on his own profile, he will surely build authority and trust.

Realtors post irrelevant photos.

No one of Realtors official family want to see his family, pets, vacations, church or anything that is not related to their profession. Just don’t post irrelevant stuff.

Realtors post political perceptions.

A Realtor should not post his political beliefs here.He should opt Facebook and Twitter for this purpose.

Realtors communicate with a larger group.

Finally, they should not send out a massive message to people. He can be reported for this and the account could be shut down.
