How to Measure The Square Feet:

Here’s the good news: measuring square footage is simply easy. To measure the square feet of my rectangular or square room I have to simply multiply the length with the width. So, if a room is 10 feet long and 12 feet wide. I will simply multiply 10 by 12 to get 120 square feet. If the room has alcoves, I’ll measure those separately and add them to the overall square footage of the room. If the 120 square foot room has an alcove measuring 3 x 3, the room will be 129 square feet in total.

To measure the total square feet of a house, I’ll complete this process in every room of the house. After measuring each room, add up the total. For example, if there are three rooms in my home. The measurements are 120 square feet, 80 square feet, and 230 square feet. Then, the total square footage of my home is 430 square feet.
